In 2021, Marcus also saw the departure of Adam Dell, one of its earliest leaders and the head of digital products who had joined Goldman through its 2018 acquisition of Clarity Money. Both Ismail and Stark joined Walmart's nascent fintech startup, as first reported by Bloomberg. But within months, Ismail left the firm along with David Stark, a fellow partner and one of the creators of the Marcus' Apple Card.
